# Refunds

> How Ruachost's money-back guarantee works, how to request a refund, and how refunds are paid as account credit within 24 hours.

## Money-back guarantee

Hosting plans come with a money-back guarantee:

| Hosting billing cycle | Request a refund within |
| --- | --- |
| Monthly | **7 days** of your order |
| Annual | **30 days** of your order |

The guarantee covers **hosting only**. Domains, SSL certificates and other services aren't covered. If you got a free domain with your hosting, its regular price is deducted from the refund, and the domain stays yours. ## How to request a refund

1. Log in to the [client area](https://dashboard.ruachost.com/clientarea.php).
2. [Open a support ticket](https://dashboard.ruachost.com/submitticket.php) in the **Billing** department.
3. Tell us which service you want to cancel and refund. We'd also appreciate knowing why, so we can improve.

Download any files or email you want to keep first: the service is cancelled when the refund is made.

## How you receive your refund

Refunds are added to your **Ruachost account credit**, usually within **24 hours** of approval. You can use the credit for any Ruachost service, such as another hosting plan, domains or renewals. ## Other situations

- **Charged twice:** the extra payment is added to your account credit. See [Unrecognised or duplicate charges](https://helpcenter.ruachost.com/billing/guides/unrecognised-or-duplicate-charges/).
- **After the guarantee period:** payments for services already provided aren't refunded. In some cases we can give credit for unused time towards another service.
- **Upgrades:** when you downgrade, any difference may be added to your account credit.
