This article explains how to check how much disk space your account is using in cPanel.

## **About the Disk Usage Page**

The Disk Usage page in cPanel shows how much space is being used by your directories and databases. You can view this information as bar graphs, and you can sort directories by name or by how much space they use.

**Tip:**\
You can use **File Manager** in cPanel to view the disk usage of individual files.

## **Steps to View Disk Usage**

1. Log in to cPanel.
2. On the **Tools** page, in the **Files** section, click **Disk Usage**.
3. Bar graphs will appear showing the relative disk usage of each directory.\
*(If your account contains many files, it may take a few minutes for cPanel to calculate disk usage.)*
4. Scroll down to view disk usage by directory in **megabytes (MB)** and **bytes**.
5. To sort the list:

   - Click **Name** to sort alphabetically.
   - Click **Disk Usage** to sort by size.

**Tip:**\
Sorting by size helps you quickly see which folders are using the most space.

## **Viewing Subdirectories**

To view the contents of a folder and see disk usage for its subdirectories, click the **>** icon next to the folder name.
