The **Perl Modules** feature in cPanel allows you to install and manage Perl modules directly from the **CPAN (Comprehensive Perl Archive Network)** repository. This makes it easy to extend the functionality of your Perl applications without needing manual server configuration.

## Why Use Perl Modules?

- Add new features to your Perl scripts.
- Access thousands of reusable libraries from CPAN.
- Manage installations, updates, and removals directly in cPanel.

## Steps to Install a Perl Module

### 1. Access the Perl Modules Interface

1. **Log in to cPanel.**
2. On the **Tools page → Software section**, click **Perl Modules**.

### 2. Install a Module

You can install Perl modules in several ways:

- ### Search for a module

  1. In the **Find a “Perl Module”** text box, type the name (e.g., `XML`).
  2. Click **Go**.
  3. Scroll down the list and click **Install** next to the desired module.
- ### Browse available modules

  1. Click **Show Available Modules**.
  2. Scroll through the list and click **Install** for the module you want.
- ### Install by name

  1. Under **Install a Perl Module**, type the exact module name.
  2. Click **Install Now**.

### 3. Manage Installed Modules

- After installation, modules appear under **Installed Perl Module(s)**.
- Options available:

  - **Update** → Upgrade to the latest version.
  - **Reinstall** → Reinstall the module if needed.
  - **Uninstall** → Remove the module.
  - **Show Docs** → View documentation for the module.
  - **Show System Installed Modules** → See modules installed system‑wide.

> **Note:**
- Ruachost servers run **Perl 5**, so the correct install path is:

  ```
  /home/username/perl5
  ```
- Always use the full module name when installing.
- If installation fails, check the error logs in cPanel for details.
