This article explains the MySQL privileges granted to users on shared hosting accounts.

**MySQL User Privileges**\
For security and performance reasons, shared hosting accounts do not have MySQL superuser access. Instead, users are granted the following privileges:

- ALTER
- CREATE
- CREATE ROUTINE
- CREATE TEMPORARY TABLES
- CREATE VIEW
- DELETE
- DROP
- EXECUTE
- INDEX
- INSERT
- LOCK TABLES
- REFERENCES
- SELECT
- SHOW VIEW
- TRIGGER
- UPDATE

**MySQL Event Scheduler**\
Shared accounts cannot use the MySQL Event Scheduler. Granting additional privileges or enabling the Event Scheduler in a shared environment could create security risks and high resource usage, potentially affecting other accounts.

The MySQL Event Scheduler can be enabled on:

- Managed VPS and managed dedicated servers
- Unmanaged VPS accounts (configurable by the user)
