# Requirements for registering a .sch.ng domain name

## Requirements for .sch.ng Registration:

The **.sch.ng** SLD is a closed domain **reserved ONLY** for non-degree awarding institutions (typically at the foundation and secondary levels) recognized by the Ministry of Education.

Registrations for .sch.ng are restricted to the **Third-Level Domain (3LD)**. The domain belongs solely to the parent institution; all departments, arms, or campuses must operate as subdomains (e.g., *primary.schoolname.sch.ng*) rather than separate domains.

To register a .sch.ng domain, please email us the following:

1. **Proof of Accreditation:** A scanned copy of the certificate of accreditation or any official document proving the institution is registered and recognized by the Ministry of Education.
2. **Letter of Authorization:** A scanned copy of an authorization letter on the institution's letterhead addressed to the **COO of the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA)**. The letter must:

   - Name **ruachost.ng** as the registrar (including our nameservers).
   - Authorize a specific staff member to register the domain.
   - Provide the following details for both Technical and Admin contacts:
