# Business Email access parameters

> The server names, ports and security settings to connect an email app to Ruachost Business Email over IMAP, POP3 or SMTP, plus webmail and the control panel.

Use these settings to add a Ruachost Business Email account to Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, the Gmail app or your phone. Want them filled in for your address? Use our [Email settings tool](https://helpcenter.ruachost.com/tools/email-settings/).

## Incoming and outgoing mail

| Setting | Value |
| --- | --- |
| **Username** | Your full email address, e.g. `name@company.com` |
| **Password** | That email account's password |
| **IMAP server** (recommended) | `imap.emailpnl.com`, port `993`, SSL/TLS |
| **POP3 server** | `pop.emailpnl.com`, port `995`, SSL/TLS |
| **SMTP (outgoing) server** | `smtp.emailpnl.com`, port `587` (STARTTLS), or `465` (SSL/TLS) |
| **SMTP authentication** | On: same username and password as incoming |

The outgoing server **requires TLS**, so turn on SSL/TLS (or STARTTLS on port 587) in your app.

**Use IMAP** if you check email on more than one device. It keeps your mail on the server, so every device stays in sync.

### Email Delivery

Use these settings to send email from your website, app or newsletter tool through Email Delivery:

| Setting | Value |
| --- | --- |
| **SMTP server** | `delivery.emailpnl.com` |
| **Port** | `587` (STARTTLS) or `465` (SSL/TLS). TLS is required |
| **Username and password** | The SMTP username and password for your Email Delivery service |
| **SPF record** | `v=spf1 include:spf.emailpnl.com mx a -all` |

## Avoid certificate warnings

- Type the server names **exactly as shown** above. If your app says the certificate is invalid or insecure, a server name is usually wrong.
- Don't use `mail.yourdomain.com` or a CNAME record of your own for Business Email: those don't match the security certificate.
- Never enter server IP addresses. They can change without notice.
