# Do you support headless browsing, Selenium or Puppeteer?

> No. Headless browsers such as Selenium and Puppeteer can't run on Ruachost shared hosting because they use too many server resources.

**No.** Headless browsing tools such as **Selenium**, **Puppeteer** and **Playwright** are not supported on Ruachost shared hosting.

## What is headless browsing?

A headless browser is a web browser, such as Chrome, that runs without a window. Developers use it to:

- Test websites automatically.
- Take screenshots or create PDFs of web pages.
- Scrape or crawl websites.
- Simulate how users click through a site.

## Why it isn't supported

Each headless browser starts a full copy of Chrome or Firefox in the background. This uses a lot of memory and CPU, and the processes often keep running. On shared hosting, your account has resource limits to keep the server fast for everyone, so these tools would hit those limits and be stopped.

## What you can do instead

- Run your tests or scrapers on your own computer, or with a continuous integration service.
- For screenshots or PDFs, use an external API service that does the rendering for you.
- If you need more resources for your website, look at a [Managed VPS](https://helpcenter.ruachost.com/vps/), and [contact support](https://helpcenter.ruachost.com/getting-started/guides/contact-support/) to check it suits your project.
