**Yes.** We support ionCube on shared hosting accounts by default.

## What is ionCube?

ionCube protects PHP source code by encoding it. Software vendors use it so their code can run but can't be read or changed. Many commercial PHP scripts, such as WHMCS and some WordPress plugins and themes, need the **ionCube Loader** on the server to run.

## Do I need to do anything?

No. The ionCube Loader is already enabled. You can upload and run ionCube-encoded files straight away.

## Troubleshooting

If a script says the ionCube Loader is missing or the wrong version:

1. Check which PHP version the script needs, and select it in cPanel under **Software → Select PHP Version**.
2. Make sure the encoded files were uploaded in **binary** mode if you used FTP.
3. If the error continues, [open a support ticket](https://dashboard.ruachost.com/submitticket.php) with the exact error message.
