**No.** SPDY is not supported on shared hosting.

## What is SPDY?

SPDY (pronounced "speedy") was an experimental protocol from Google that made websites load faster. It was retired years ago and replaced by the **HTTP/2** standard. All major browsers have removed SPDY support, so it no longer affects how fast your site loads.

## Making your site faster

To improve loading speed, focus on:

- Enabling SSL, since modern browsers only use their fastest connection methods over HTTPS
- Caching (see [Optimizing website performance](https://helpcenter.ruachost.com/apps/guides/optimizing-website-performance/))
- Compressing images and using a CDN such as Cloudflare
