# Do you support VirtualBox?

> No. You can't run VirtualBox or other virtual machine software on Ruachost hosting. Here is why, and what you can do instead.

**No.** You can't run VirtualBox on Ruachost hosting.

VirtualBox is desktop software that runs other operating systems as virtual machines on your own computer. It needs direct access to the server's hardware, which isn't available on hosting accounts. Our hosting already runs in a shared, managed environment, so it can't host virtual machines of its own.

## What you can do instead

- **Run VirtualBox on your own computer** for testing, then upload the finished website to your hosting.
