Comodo SSL certificates, now issued under the **Sectigo** name, can't be issued to customers in some countries because of **US export control laws**. These rules are set by the certificate authority and US law, not by Ruachost.

## Countries affected

Customers from the following countries can't get Comodo (Sectigo) SSL certificates:

- Afghanistan
- Belarus
- Cuba
- Eritrea
- Guinea
- Iran
- Liberia
- North Korea
- Russia
- South Sudan
- Syria
- Zimbabwe

This list can change as export rules are updated.

## What you can do instead

Every Ruachost hosting plan includes a free **AutoSSL** certificate from Let's Encrypt, which secures your website with HTTPS. See [How to install an SSL certificate on your site using Let's Encrypt SSL](https://helpcenter.ruachost.com/ssl-security/ssl-certificates/how-to-install-ssl-certificate-on-your-site-using-lets-encrypt-ssl/).

If you're unsure whether you can order a paid certificate, [contact support](https://helpcenter.ruachost.com/getting-started/guides/contact-support/) before ordering.
