By default, WordPress displays its own branded footer text in the admin dashboard. You can replace this with a **custom footer message** to reflect your brand, provide helpful links, or personalize the admin area. On **ruachost.com**, this can be done by editing your theme’s `functions.php` file.

## Why Customize the Admin Footer?

- Reinforces your brand identity for site administrators.
- Provides quick access to support or documentation links.
- Creates a more professional and personalized dashboard experience.

## Steps to Add a Custom Footer

1. **Log in to WordPress** with an administrator account.
2. In the dashboard, go to **Appearance → Theme Editor**.
3. From the right‑hand column, select the file named **functions.php**.
4. Scroll to the bottom of the file and add the following code:

   ```
   function custom_admin_footer_text() {
       echo 'Powered by <a href="https://ruachost.com">Ruachost</a> | Custom WordPress Hosting';
   }
   add_filter('admin_footer_text', 'custom_admin_footer_text');
   ```
5. Click **Update File** to save changes.

✅ Your custom footer text will now appear at the bottom of the WordPress admin dashboard.

## Important Notes

- Always **back up your site** before editing theme files.
- Consider using a **child theme** to preserve changes during updates.
- You can include HTML links, bold text, or even icons in your custom footer.
