By default, WordPress hides the option to change the author name of a post. However, you may need to update the author field if content was uploaded by the wrong user or if you want to reassign posts. On **ruachost.com**, you can enable this option directly from the dashboard.

## Why Change Author Names?

- Correct mistakes when posts are assigned to the wrong user.
- Reassign content after staff changes.
- Attribute guest posts to the right author.
- Maintain consistency in blog branding.

## Steps to Enable Author Selection

1. **Log in to WordPress** with an administrator account.
2. In the dashboard, go to **Posts → All Posts**.
3. Select the post you want to edit → Click **Edit**.
4. At the top right of the editor, click **Screen Options**.
5. Check the box for **Author**.
6. Scroll down to the bottom of the post editor → You’ll now see an **Author dropdown menu**.
7. Select the desired author from the list.
8. Click **Update** to save changes.

✅ The post will now display the new author name.

## Important Notes

- Only users with appropriate roles (Author, Editor, Administrator) will appear in the dropdown.
- If you need to add a new author, go to **Users → Add New** first.
- Always double‑check attribution to avoid miscrediting content.
