A **subdomain** is an extension of your main domain that can be used to host a separate website. For example, if your domain is `example.com`, a subdomain could be `blog.example.com`. On **ruachost.com**, you can install WordPress on a subdomain using **cPanel** and **Softaculous**.

## Why Use a Subdomain?

- Create separate sites for blogs, shops, or support portals.
- Keep content organized without buying a new domain.
- Test new designs or features without affecting your main site.

## Step‑by‑Step Installation

### 1. Create the Subdomain

1. Log in to **cPanel** at **ruachost.com**.
2. In the **Domains** section, click **Subdomains**.
3. Enter the desired subdomain name (e.g., `blog`).
4. Select the parent domain (e.g., `example.com`).
5. The **Document Root** will be created automatically (e.g., `/public_html/blog`).
6. Click **Create**.

✅ Your subdomain is now active.

### 2. Install WordPress via Softaculous

1. In cPanel, go to **Softaculous Apps Installer**.
2. Click **WordPress**.
3. Click **Install Now**.
4. Under **Choose Installation URL**:

   - Select the subdomain you just created (e.g., `blog.example.com`).
   - Leave the “In Directory” field blank to install WordPress in the subdomain root.
5. Enter site details (site name, description, admin username, password, and email).
6. Choose language and optional plugins.
7. Click **Install**.

✅ WordPress will be installed on your subdomain.

### 3. Access Your Subdomain Site

- Visit your subdomain in a browser (e.g., `blog.example.com`).
- Log in to the WordPress dashboard at:

  ```
  blog.example.com/wp-admin
  ```

> **Note:**
- Each subdomain functions as a separate WordPress site.
- SSL certificates may need to be configured for the subdomain.
- Subdomains can be managed independently from the main domain.
