Drush is a command-line tool for managing Drupal. Instead of clicking through the Drupal admin area, you can run commands to:

• Clear caches (drush cr).
• Enable or uninstall modules.
• Run database updates (drush updb).
• Export and import configuration.
• Back up the database (drush sql:dump).

How to use it

Drush runs over SSH, which is included with your hosting.

1. Connect to your account with SSH.
2. Go to your Drupal folder, for example cd ~/public_html.
3. Run Drush commands from there.

For Drupal 8 and later, the usual way to install Drush is with Composer, inside your Drupal project:

composer require drush/drush
vendor/bin/drush status
