Do you support web service protocols for PHP?

Yes. PHP on Ruachost hosting supports common web service protocols, including SOAP and XML-RPC. You can also call and build REST APIs over HTTPS with PHP’s standard tools, such as cURL and JSON.

What this means for you

• Your PHP scripts can connect to external services (for example payment gateways, shipping providers or government APIs) that use SOAP or XML-RPC.
• You can publish your own web service from your hosting account.
• Applications such as WordPress, which use XML-RPC, work as normal.

If an extension seems to be missing

PHP extensions are managed per PHP version. If your script reports that a class such as SoapClient is not found:

1. Log in to cPanel.
2. Open Select PHP Version.
3. Click Extensions and make sure the extension you need (for example soap or xmlrpc) is ticked.

Tip

To check what is enabled, create a file containing <?php phpinfo(); in your website folder, open it in your browser, then delete it when you’re done.
