Restricting product pricing to logged-in customers in OpenCart

By default, OpenCart displays product prices to all visitors. On ruachost.com, you can restrict product pricing so that only logged‑in customers can view prices. This is useful for wholesale stores, membership‑based shops, or businesses that want to hide prices until registration.

Why Restrict Pricing?

• Encourage visitors to register before seeing product prices.
• Protect sensitive pricing information from competitors.
• Offer exclusive pricing to members or wholesale customers.

Steps to Restrict Product Pricing

Step 1: Log in to OpenCart Administrator

• Use your administrator account to access the backend dashboard.

Step 2: Navigate to Store Settings

1. In the left sidebar, click System → Settings.
2. Select your store and click Edit.

Step 3: Configure Customer Login Requirement

1. Go to the Option tab.

2. Scroll down to the Login Display Prices setting.

3. Set Login Display Prices to Yes.

   • This ensures that product prices are only visible to logged‑in customers.

Step 4: Save Changes

• Click Save to apply the new settings.
• Visitors who are not logged in will now see products without prices.

Important Notes

• This restriction applies globally across the store.
• Logged‑out visitors will still see product names and descriptions, but not prices.
• You can combine this with Customer Groups to show different prices to different groups.
• Always clear OpenCart cache after updating settings.
