Mailing list recipients do not receive list messages
Sometimes mailing list members fail to receive messages sent through cPanel’s Mailman system. This issue usually occurs when the message headers are not configured correctly.
Problem
Section titled “Problem”- You send a message to a mailing list (e.g.,
newsletter@example.com). - Recipients do not receive the message.
- Other non‑list e‑mail messages are delivered normally.
- The From or Reply‑To header in the outgoing message uses an address from a free e‑mail provider (e.g., Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo).
- Many mail servers block such messages because spammers often forge free provider addresses.
- Additionally, if the Reply‑To header points to a list member’s personal address, some providers will reject the message.

Section titled “Resolution”To fix this, configure the mailing list to rewrite headers so they use your domain’s address:
-
Log in to cPanel.
-
On the Tools page, in the Email section, click Mailing Lists.
-
Under Current Lists, locate the list → click Manage.
-
In the Mailman admin interface, go to General Options.
-
Under General list personality:

- This rewrites the
From:header to use the mailing list’s address.
- This rewrites the
-
-
Under Reply‑To: header munging:
- Set first_strip_reply_to → Yes.
- Set reply_goes_to_list → This list.
