Do you support MapServer?
No. We do not support MapServer on shared hosting accounts. MapServer has complex requirements that don’t fit a shared hosting environment.
What is MapServer?
Section titled “What is MapServer?”MapServer is open-source software for publishing maps and geographic (GIS) data on the web. It needs several system libraries and a CGI or FastCGI setup that must be compiled and configured at server level.
Alternatives
Section titled “Alternatives”- Managed VPS: on a VPS you have the server access needed to install MapServer and its dependencies.
- JavaScript mapping libraries such as Leaflet or OpenLayers can display maps and map data in the browser and work on any hosting plan.
- Hosted map services can serve your map tiles and data for you.
