Using your website's email with Gmail

You can still use your domain email (for example hello@yourdomain.com) with Gmail in these ways.

Option 1: Add it to the Gmail app on your phone (IMAP)

Section titled “Option 1: Add it to the Gmail app on your phone (IMAP)”

The Gmail app for Android and iPhone can still connect to other email accounts directly.

  1. Open the Gmail app and tap your profile picture, then Add another account.
  2. Choose Other.
  3. Enter your full email address and tap Manual setup, then choose Personal (IMAP).
  4. Enter your email password.
  5. Enter the server settings:
  6. Finish the setup. Your mail stays on our server and syncs both ways.

To read your domain email in Gmail on a computer too, forward it:

  1. In cPanel, open Forwarders and click Add Forwarder.
  2. Enter your domain address and forward it to your Gmail address. See Setting up email forwarders in cPanel.

Gmail can sometimes reject forwarded spam, which can affect your domain. Turn on spam filters first, and see Email messages do not forward to Gmail accounts if forwarded mail goes missing.

To send as hello@yourdomain.com from Gmail:

  1. In Gmail on a computer, go to Settings → See all settings → Accounts and Import.
  2. Under Send mail as, click Add another email address.
  3. Enter your name and domain address, and keep Treat as an alias ticked.
  4. Enter the SMTP server: mail.yourdomain.com (cPanel email) or smtp.emailpnl.com (Business Email), port 465 with SSL, your full email address and password.
  5. Gmail sends a code to your domain mailbox. Enter it to confirm.

Any app that supports IMAP works: Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird or your phone’s built-in mail app. See Email settings for apps and devices.

With Google Workspace, your domain email runs on Gmail directly. See Google Workspace with Ruachost.
