Locking and unlocking your domain
Registrar lock (also called transfer lock) protects your domain from being transferred to another registrar without your permission. Keep it on at all times, except while you’re transferring the domain away.
Turn registrar lock on or off
Section titled “Turn registrar lock on or off”- Log in to the client area.
- Go to Domains → My Domains and select your domain.
- Open Registrar Lock.
- Click Enable Registrar Lock or Disable Registrar Lock.
The change takes effect within a few minutes.
When to unlock
Section titled “When to unlock”Only unlock your domain when you’re ready to transfer it to another registrar. Lock it again if you change your mind.
You don’t need to unlock your domain to change nameservers, edit DNS records, renew or update contact details.
If you don’t see Registrar Lock
Section titled “If you don’t see Registrar Lock”Some extensions don’t support registrar lock, including some country domains. These are protected by their registry instead. If you need help, open a support ticket.
