Google Workspace with Ruachost
Google Workspace gives your team Gmail on your own domain (you@yourcompany.com), plus Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Meet and Calendar. You can order and pay for it through Ruachost.
Order Google Workspace
Section titled “Order Google Workspace”- Go to ruachost.com and choose a Google Workspace plan.
- Choose your domain, the number of users (licences) and the billing period.
- Complete checkout. You’ll get an email with your Google Workspace admin login.
You can add licences later from Services → My Services in the client area.
Connect your domain
Section titled “Connect your domain”Google needs to confirm you own the domain, and your MX records must point to Google so email is delivered to Gmail.
- Sign in to the Google Admin console with your admin account.
- Follow the setup steps. Google gives you a TXT verification record.
- Add the records in your DNS. If your domain uses Ruachost’s nameservers, add them in Domains → Manage DNS in the client area, or cPanel’s Zone Editor:
| Type | Name | Value | Priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| TXT | @ |
google-site-verification=… (from the Admin console) |
|
| MX | @ |
smtp.google.com |
1 |
| TXT | @ |
v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all |
- Remove your old MX records, so mail only goes to Google.
- Turn on DKIM in the Admin console (Apps → Google Workspace → Gmail → Authenticate email), add the TXT record it gives you, then click Start authentication.
- Add a DMARC record. See Setting up DMARC.
If you also host your website with us and use cPanel, see Using cPanel to configure a domain for Google Workspace. It also stops cPanel delivering mail locally.
Add users
Section titled “Add users”In the Admin console, go to Directory → Users → Add new user. Each user needs a licence.
Moving existing email
Section titled “Moving existing email”Google Workspace includes a Data migration tool in the Admin console (Data → Data import & export → Data migration) that copies email from your old Ruachost mailboxes or another provider using IMAP. Do this before or right after changing the MX records.
