Giving someone access to your account (User Management)

User Management lets other people manage your Ruachost account with their own login, so you never need to share your password. Use it for a web developer, a colleague, or an accountant who pays your invoices.

  1. Log in to the client area.
  2. Click your name in the top-right corner and choose User Management.
  3. Enter the person’s email address.
  4. Choose their permissions:
    • All Permissions: they can do everything you can, except manage other users.
    • Choose Permissions: tick only what they need.
  5. Click Send Invite.

They receive an email invitation. Once they accept, they can switch to your account from their own login.

Person Suggested permissions
Web developer View and manage products and services, single sign-on to cPanel, manage domains, view and open tickets
Accountant or finance team View and pay invoices, view quotes, manage payment methods
Colleague who helps with support View and open support tickets, view products and services

Give only the access each person needs. You can change it at any time.

In User Management, click Manage Permissions next to a user to change what they can do, or Remove Access to stop them using your account straight away. Remove access as soon as someone leaves or a project ends.

If someone invited you:

  1. Open the invitation email and click the link.
  2. Log in with your existing Ruachost account, or create one.
  3. Their account now appears in your client area. Click your name in the top-right corner and choose Switch Account to move between accounts.
  • The account owner stays responsible for the account, its services and its invoices.
  • Invited users use their own password and their own two-factor authentication.
  • To hand over services permanently, for example when a client takes over their website, see Moving services to another Ruachost account.
  • Need someone to work only on your website files? You can create an FTP account in cPanel instead.
