I was charged a different amount
First, compare your statement with the invoice total in the client area under Billing → My Invoices, not with the price on our website. Then check these common reasons.
The invoice includes VAT
Section titled “The invoice includes VAT”Prices on our website may not include VAT. Where VAT applies, it’s added to your invoice as a separate line. See Managing your profile and account details.
Currency conversion
Section titled “Currency conversion”If your card or bank account is in a different currency from your Ruachost account (NGN, USD or EUR), your bank converts the amount using its own exchange rate, which may differ from the rate you see online. The amount on your statement can be higher or lower than you expected.
To avoid this, pay with a card in the same currency as your invoice, or ask us to change your account currency.
Bank or payment fees
Section titled “Bank or payment fees”Your bank may add its own fees, such as international transaction fees, FX fees or transfer charges. These are charged by your bank, not by Ruachost, and appear as separate lines on your statement.
Account credit was used
Section titled “Account credit was used”If you had account credit, part of the invoice was paid with it, so only the remaining amount was charged.
Upgrades and prorated amounts
Section titled “Upgrades and prorated amounts”When you upgrade a plan, you pay only the difference for the rest of your billing period, so the amount can be smaller than the plan’s full price. See Changing your billing cycle and upgrading.
Still doesn’t add up?
Section titled “Still doesn’t add up?”Open a billing ticket with a screenshot of the charge on your statement and the invoice number. Payments to us appear as Ruach Hosting Limited.
