MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) support
This article explains MIDI files and how they work on ruachost.com accounts.
About MIDI
Section titled “About MIDI”MIDI files do not contain actual audio.
Instead, they tell the computer’s sound card what notes to play, which instruments to use, and how to play them.
They are also very small in size compared to regular audio files:
- A 5-minute .wav file may be 20 MB or more.
- A comparable MIDI file can be under 1000 KB.

Section titled “Using MIDI”ruachost.com servers already include the correct MIME types for MIDI playback.
You can upload files using either extension:
These files can be linked or embedded in your web pages just like any other media file.
