Transferring a .ng domain to Ruachost
You can move any .ng domain (.ng, .com.ng, .org.ng, .name.ng and others) to Ruachost from another NiRA registrar. Ruachost is NiRA-accredited, so we manage your domain directly with the registry, and you can keep your domain, hosting and email in one place.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- The domain must be active. A
.ngdomain can’t be transferred during its grace period after expiry. Renew it with your current registrar first. See All about .ng domains. - The registrant’s email address must work. Check it with your current registrar. Important messages about the transfer go there.
- Ask your current registrar for the EPP (auth) code and for the domain to be unlocked.
- Note your current nameservers and DNS records. If your email or website is hosted elsewhere, you’ll want them to keep working.
Transfer your domain
Section titled “Transfer your domain”- Log in to the Ruachost client area.
- Go to Domains → Transfer Domain.
- Enter your
.ngdomain and click to continue. - Enter the EPP code from your current registrar.
- Complete checkout and pay the transfer fee.
We’ll submit the transfer to NiRA, and you’ll get an email when it’s complete. If your current registrar or NiRA needs anything from you, we’ll let you know.
After the transfer
Section titled “After the transfer”- Your domain keeps its current nameservers, so your website and email keep working.
- To host with us, change the nameservers to
nsa.ruachost.comandnsb.ruachost.com. See How to change domain nameservers. - Turn on auto-renew in Domains → My Domains.
If your transfer is rejected or takes longer than expected, open a support ticket and we’ll follow it up with the registry.
