All about .ng domains
The .ng extension is Nigeria’s country domain. It tells visitors and search engines that your business or organisation is Nigerian. Ruachost is a NiRA-accredited registrar, so we register .ng domains directly with the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA), the official .ng registry.

- Choose a registration period from 1 to 5 years.
- Complete checkout. Open extensions are usually active within minutes.
Your domain is always registered in your name, as the registrant, not in Ruachost’s name.
Renewal, expiry and recovery
Section titled “Renewal, expiry and recovery”.ng domains have a longer recovery window than most international domains:
| Days after expiry | What happens | How to get it back |
|---|---|---|
| 1–30 | Renewal grace period. Your website and email may keep working. | Renew at the normal price |
| 31–60 | Still in the renewal grace period, but the domain is suspended. Your website and email stop working. | Renew at the normal price |
| 61–88 | Redemption period (28 days) | Restore it for a ₦150,000 restoration fee, plus renewal |
| 89–102 | Pending delete | Can’t be recovered |
| After day 102 | Deleted | Anyone can register it |
Don’t wait for the grace period. Turn on auto-renew so your domain renews before it expires. See Renewing a domain purchased from Ruachost and the full .ng domain name life cycle.
