Managing domain forwarding
Domain forwarding sends visitors who type one domain to a different web address. For example, you can forward example.net to https://example.com, or send example.com/shop to your online store.
Forward a domain with cPanel
Section titled “Forward a domain with cPanel”If the domain is on your Ruachost hosting account (as the main domain, an addon domain or a parked/alias domain):
- Log in to cPanel.
- In the Domains section, click Redirects.
- Choose the redirect Type:
- Permanent (301): use this in most cases. Search engines pass your rankings to the new address.
- Temporary (302): use this only if the redirect is short-term.
- Select the domain you want to forward. To forward a single page, also enter its path in the box after the domain.
- In Redirects to, enter the full destination address, including
https://. - Choose www. redirection. In most cases, select Redirect with or without www.
- Click Add.
The redirect works straight away. Visit the domain in a private browser window to test it.
