How can I find my IP address?
The quickest way to find your public IP address is to visit a site such as whatismyip.com or ip4.me, or search “what’s my IP” on Google.
When you might need it
Section titled “When you might need it”Our support team may ask for your IP address when:
- You can’t reach cPanel, webmail or your website, and we need to check whether our firewall has blocked you
- You want to allow your IP address for remote MySQL access or SSH
- We’re investigating login or security issues on your account
Public vs private IP addresses
Section titled “Public vs private IP addresses”The address shown by these websites is your public IP address. It’s the one the internet, and our servers, see. Your computer also has a private address (often starting with 192.168. or 10.), but that is only used inside your home or office network and isn’t what we need.
