EPP code and all about it
An EPP code (also called an auth code, authorisation code or transfer key) is a unique password for your domain. The registrar you’re moving to asks for it to prove that you own the domain and agree to the transfer.
You need an EPP code to transfer .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .ng (including .com.ng and the other .ng extensions) and most other domains.
Get your EPP code from Ruachost
Section titled “Get your EPP code from Ruachost”You can get it yourself, at any time:
- Log in to the client area.
- Go to Domains → My Domains and select the domain.
- Click Get EPP Code.
- The code is shown on screen or emailed to the domain’s registrant email address.
Before you start the transfer, also unlock the domain.
Transferring a domain to Ruachost
Section titled “Transferring a domain to Ruachost”Ask your current registrar for the EPP code, then enter it when you order the transfer. See Transferring a domain to Ruachost, or Transferring a .ng domain to Ruachost.
- EPP codes are case-sensitive and can contain letters, numbers and symbols. Copy and paste the code rather than typing it.
- Treat the code like a password. Anyone who has it, and an unlocked domain, could start a transfer.
- If the new registrar says the code is invalid, get a new one from the client area and try again.
