Finding your WordPress login page
The usual login address
Section titled “The usual login address”Add /wp-admin to your website’s address:
https://yourdomain.com/wp-adminhttps://yourdomain.com/wp-login.php also works. If WordPress is installed in a folder or subdomain, add /wp-admin to that address, for example https://yourdomain.com/blog/wp-admin or https://shop.yourdomain.com/wp-admin.
Log in from cPanel (no password needed)
Section titled “Log in from cPanel (no password needed)”- Log in to cPanel and open WordPress Management (WP Toolkit).
- Find your site and click Log in.
You’re logged in to the WordPress dashboard as an administrator. This is handy if you’ve forgotten your WordPress password. You can also log in from WordPress Manager by Softaculous if you installed WordPress with Softaculous.
The login page shows 404 or redirects to the home page
Section titled “The login page shows 404 or redirects to the home page”A security plugin may have changed your login address. Plugins such as WPS Hide Login, iThemes/Solid Security or All In One WP Security let you choose a custom address, such as /my-login.
- Check your email for a message from the plugin with the new address.
- Can’t find it? In cPanel’s File Manager, rename the plugin’s folder in
wp-content/plugins/, for examplewps-hide-logintowps-hide-login-off. The normal/wp-adminaddress works again. Log in, then rename the folder back and check the plugin’s settings.
See Changing the WordPress admin login page default URL.
Other login problems
Section titled “Other login problems”- Forgot your password: click Lost your password? on the login page, or log in from cPanel as above. See Resetting the WordPress administrator password.
- No admin user left: see Creating a WordPress admin user using phpMyAdmin.
- The login page reloads without logging you in: clear your browser cookies and cache. If you recently changed your domain or moved to HTTPS, check WordPress Address and Site Address match. See Changing the website URL in WordPress.
- 403 or “too many requests” after failed logins: your IP address was blocked for a while. See Fixing 403 Forbidden errors.
